The Heart Behind Gharaana

Gharaana was inspired by our personal journey as a student in the UK. As an Indian student moving to the UK, we quickly realize how much we miss authentic, home-cooked meals. The struggle isn’t just about finding food that tastes like home—it is about the time and effort it takes to cook those meals ourself and quite frankly all of us aren't that fond of cooking day-in day-out. Between classes, part-time jobs, and the daily grind, much of our precious time and energy is spent shopping for groceries, cooking, and cleaning up.

The same challenge is affecting other students around us. Many are sacrificing their time, money, and even health, either by relying on unhealthy takeout or spending hours in the kitchen. This leaves little to no room for learning new skills, staying fit, or focusing on career goals—critical factors for success in such a competitive environment. So, is the case with the working professionals, long hours of shifts and uneasy shift patterns only call for more rest which is impossible being surrounded by chores.

That’s when the idea for Gharaana took shape. It’s more than just a meal box subscription service; it’s a way to empower students, busy professionals or anyone who wants to indulge in Indian food. By delivering hearty, balanced Indian meals, Gharaana saves time, reduces the stress of rising utility bills, and gives our customers the freedom to focus on what truly matters: their goals, fitness, and personal growth.

We wish the best for everyone.
